My laptop is such a POS that it won't load its recovery file properly. My only ideas of what could be wrong are. The car ran perfectly.Ĭan anyone help, give advice, or anything? I want to give up. Mechanically, I fail to see how anything could be wrong. even though it ran fine before the loss of the stock tune. It's getting to the point where I think SCT is tired of dealing with me and is trying to wash their hands for any reason, the car won't start. I've been on the phone with SCT daily and I now have their "on hold" music showing up in my dreams. Has anyone ever been in this position before? The car has been immobile for over a week now. This was supposed to confirm something along the lines of the PCM not being the issue. Yesterday, SCT sent me a "custom stock tune" that they wanted me to load into the x4 as a custom tune. Something peculiar to note: with "stock tune" freshly in place and 12.38 volts on the battery, if I turn the key to the on position (not engaging), the car begins to click 8-10 times quickly with the security/theft light on the tach flashing quickly. It is unlikely the PCM/ECU is the issue as the odometer reads properly and does not show dashes. Has anyone ever needed to do that?Įach time I load tunes onto the car I've had the battery on a charger, so we can rule out battery power being the issue. I explained that to them, and they said it's possible the car could need a flash from Ford to return it to stock. I'm not buying that for a second, as the car ran like a dream up until the stock tune was lost. SCT is now suggesting that something mechanical is the issue. Load it into the car and still, the car does not start. I purchase an x4 and get them to load up a recovery file on my personal laptop for it. I've tried every tune I've ever received and they all do the same thing.įast forward through a week of different SCT techs trying to load the recovery file onto the x3 and the car still not starting I decide that I'm tired of screwing around and that maybe the x3 is my problem. They put their recovery file on the car and the car cranks but does not turn over. I contacted SCT to put a recovery file back on the x3 for me while the device was plugged into my personal laptop. Put Lunds' initial tune on the car and did some datalogging for him, even got to drive the car a bit! It was great!Īt some point in time, I needed to do another update to the x3 to get Lund's tune revision on the x3 and like a *** I lost the stock tune. For some reason, my personal laptop was unable to perform the update, took the tuner to the wife's work computer and the update worked. With X3 handheld I needed to do a device update. Let me break the events down so this is somewhat easier to follow. Someone at Ring needs to roll back the latest software version they pushed, or correct in a future version, cause it’s annoying. So I installed 3.2KB, 72lb injectors, and KB BAP. But if people try to switch it to battery and then back, without doing a full restore or using the OEM cable to do the switchback (a major hassle depending where you’ve got it installed), it’s a hurdle. So as the previous person has said it works just fine, thinking it’s on solar, which isn’t a problem, it’s more of an annoyance of it showing “power disconnected” message and icon on the camera thumbnail. So I set it up using the OEM, and even with that it still gave me the error. In order to set it up again I had to use the OEM power cable otherwise I got the “power not connected, try again?” message. I ran a non-oem power cable through the wall to take the current outside. I even tried doing a reset (big mistake). I used to use the solar panel as well, but switched to the OEM outdoor wire for power (battery still inside).
